When it rains it pours.....I'm sure we all think only those things happen to us. I'm happy that you were able to keep a sense of humor about it. Now I know who to call when my sprinklers break :-)

Be well and have a wonderful holiday weekend.

JCJudy Clerihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06848970913060813228noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2741672436160438708.post-43489396863264783662009-09-06T09:28:57.712-07:002009-09-06T09:28:57.712-07:00I've been thinking about the verses from Eccle...I've been thinking about the verses from Ecclesiastes. I agree that knowledge brings pain. I disagree that the crooked will not be made straight. G-d gave us the choice when it comes to pursuing knowledge and, while the more we know the more we are aware of problems in the world, knowledge can sometimes help us to make the crooked straight. Just look at what you accomplished this week with your plumbing! LOL!

As a doctor you deal with the pain of knowing what is happening to your patients medically, but your medical knowledge also allows you to help many, if not most, of them.

Your knowledge of the realities of CLL certainly causes you "pain", but has also allowed you to pursue treatments that are giving you the ability to go surfing and ice skating, consider hang gliding (hope you have a good orthopedist lined up - good knowledge to have on hand), and fly kites.

I think our charge from G-d is to use our knowledge to the best of our ability and accept (the hard part) the crooked that can't be made straight.

Hope you had a good breeze. I loved flying kites growing up. We made our own. One of my favorite songs is "Let's Go Fly a Kite" from Mary Poppins. There is such joy in that scene in the movie and the song captures it so well.pkennhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13809778695114100756noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2741672436160438708.post-90273180690518658312009-09-05T20:25:18.841-07:002009-09-05T20:25:18.841-07:00I'm like that, too, Brian.
