Day Zero, Part 2
(a few quick phone calls to family - and a few impatient ones : "is the transfusion ready yet?")
(drumming, but quietly)
(goofing around, of course)
(Dad catching up on sleep, and then...)
(wow. the stem cells are here!)
This picture is important - a year from now it will be sent, along with profound thanks and a long anticipated introduction, to the far away stranger who made this generous gift to my father...
But for now, through our surgical masks we kiss the old immune system goodbye, and bid the new one welcome.

I can not get the huge smile off of my face. I am so happy for you and your family. I am calling it “the new establishment”. You are finally going to get this monkey off of your back. Day 100 will be here soon.
Your CLL friend
Robert and Family
Seeing these pictures sends a chill down my spine, be strong and at peace with what you have done to get ready for this day.

"From Strength to Strength" you had said earlier, and I smile to see your pictures. You do,indeed, look like a Warrior)albeit sometimes a sleeping one)ready to do battle with the Enemy with the help of your new immune system.
Just think...The First Day of the Rest of Your Life! WOW!
Much Love & Prayer,
Your "Pesky" Patient,
Linda
