Crystal Cove

No, this is not one of those horrific Thomas Kinkade paintings
This is a photo of one of the rundown yet to be rehabbed houses steps from the ocean in Crystal Cove.
The house we stayed in was from the 1930s and was communal with private sleeping rooms and shared kitchens and bath. The decor was fishing nets with the choice flotsam and jetsam that they might have dragged in.
Another reason I love this special place.

Bless the owners who have so far avoided rehab! Our family lake place in Indiana has seen taxes rise so high that if there weren't 3 generations helping to pay, it would have gone to developers at a tax sale long ago...

The photo is beautiful!

It is an amazing photograph. I'm not a fan of Mr. Kinkade, but it's due to the marketing and the deal he made to compromise his art.

His paintings are kitschy, but he does have talent. He could have been a more respected, but poorer, artist if he didn't give into the siren song of the megabucks.
