Friends,
This week
in the Beyond the Basics section of the CLL Society
website, we
have posted an interview from ASH 2015 with Dr. Januario Castro, although
discussing an abstract that was presented at the 2015 iwCLL meeting. We talked
about Richter’s Transformation, one of the most aggressive turns that
chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) can take
and specifically, a clinical trial that will be available
soon that uses a non-chemo approach to therapy. You can see that interview
here. [http://cllsociety.org/2016/02/richters-transformation-of-cll/]

Dear Dr. Brian Koffman, I do believe this paper is very interesting but I also believe that a cohort of 2 patients is very small (don't mean to criticize their extremely great job). Researching for more information I founded another paper where 52 CLL patients were treated with Metylprednisone, Lanidomide and Ofatumumab. The responses were variable depending on patients status (TN or R/R).
There is another clinical trial phase ½ that I find really interesting of the combination of Venetoclax, Ibrutinib and Obitubuzumab. You can find both links at the end of my comment.
If find all this information extremely encouraging and I agree with you fully, I can also smell a cure. Wishing you the best with your medical exams and I’m glad your LFTs are back to normal.
Best regards
Dr. Facundo Stingo
