"It won't be long" The Beatles

My hard drive is really on its way to the graveyard, and my warranty runs out real soon, so I have back up everything and printed out my plans for the next week. Tomorrow I will take my MAC to the not so Genius Bar at the Apple Store to get a new platter.

My son's old EMAC, after great trouble getting going (reminds me of an aging arthritic) finally booted up and will provide some access to email for the next week, but the blog will be a quiet for a day or two.

My book is moving along.  My research for my medical group is progressing. And my plans are tightening up for my "third opinion".  The letter to JAMA is on the back burner.

Tomorrow evening is a holistic comedy workshop with Melanie Chartoff (remember Fridays in the early 80s). If I am not signed by a major studio or offered my own sitcom or late night talk show, then I will return. Actually I am going to be cured, not famous.

Heck, I would return anyway.  I know nothing of TV (I still use bunny ears that don't get any stations well, but it doesn't matter cuz  I watch nothing ever). I feel more at home here on the internet, with readers who can write back. The scale is more human and more direct, even if the interface is a bit too digital for my liking.

EMAC sounds like a mainframe computer.
iMAC maybe? Please post any letters dealing with Zoster so they can be passed on to CLL physicians.

The eMac is now nearly extinct Apple computer made for schools. The e stands for education. It was one of the last with a CRT, is a single unit except for the keyboard and it has a motorola chip. It is build solid for the classroom setting and weighs a ton. This one runs OS 10.3 and 1 g of RAM and 80g HD. Not bad. It seems to be working fine after trouble "turning over".
Be well
Brian

I too still use rabbit ears, but watch nothing. I remember when my girls came home from college and said, "Mom, your TV isn't working." I said, "Just put it out on the curb - someone will take it." They did and it was gone in half an hour.
I bought one a few years ago for my sons-in-law to watch sports on, but reception is too poor. And now, I guess I can't get a coupon for a box either... I still prefer music...
Hang in there. We'll miss the blog.

I'm physically disabled - that is what I say, (to myself), - come the cure I'll get on television - maybe better here!

“Dr. K’s excellent adventure” could be the working title of your upcoming sitcom (forgive me if someone already posted that…this is my first post!). It could be like a medical “Kung Fu” with you tossing out your usual nuggets of wisdom and positivity, always continuing your “journey” by shows end. Maybe you could have a crossover show featuring a discussion with “House” (an acerbic TV doctor for non-TV viewers) along the way.

On the computer front, one plan could be to get one of those external storage devices. Usually 1 Tera-Byte (1000 giga-bytes) in size is pretty good to store lots of audio and video files. It’s basically a USB hard drive that you either keep your files on, or keep copies of your files with a regular back-up plan. Doesn’t matter what computer it is, you get a new one and you plug the device in…viola! Your files are back.

Wishing you well, Brian!
